1. Overview

At Techbarn Technologies Limited, we stand behind the quality of every product we supply. This policy outlines the conditions under which returns, exchanges, and warranty claims are accepted for products purchased directly from Techbarn Technologies.

2. Warranty

All products supplied by Techbarn Technologies carry a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated on the product page or invoice. The warranty covers manufacturing defects and hardware failures under normal operating conditions.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Physical damage caused by misuse, accidents, or improper installation
  • Water or moisture damage beyond the product's rated IP protection level
  • Damage caused by use outside of the specified operating conditions
  • Tampering, unauthorised modifications, or repairs by third parties
  • Consumable parts (e.g. batteries, cables) subject to normal wear and tear

3. Returns & Exchanges

We accept returns and exchanges under the following conditions:

  • The item must be returned within 7 days of delivery for a standard return, or within the warranty period for defect claims.
  • The product must be in its original packaging with all accessories, manuals, and documentation included.
  • A valid proof of purchase (invoice or receipt) must be presented.
  • Products that have been installed, configured, or used beyond initial testing may not qualify for a standard return but may still be covered under warranty.

4. Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned or exchanged unless they arrive faulty:

  • Software licences, subscriptions, and digital products
  • Custom-ordered or specially configured equipment
  • Products with broken seals where the seal is required for safety or calibration
  • SIM cards and airtime

5. How to Initiate a Return or Warranty Claim

To start a return or warranty claim, please contact us before sending any product back:

  1. Email sales@techbarn.co.ke or call +254 716 545 808 with your order details and a description of the issue.
  2. Our team will assess your claim and issue a Return Authorisation if applicable.
  3. Ship or deliver the product to our Nairobi office. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to our error or a confirmed manufacturing defect.
  4. Upon receipt and inspection, we will repair, replace, or refund as appropriate — typically within 5–10 business days.

6. Refunds

Approved refunds are processed in-store or at our Nairobi drop-off location within 7 business days of inspection. We reserve the right to deduct a restocking fee of up to 15% for returns that are not due to a defect or our error.
